MD Forest Service: USFS BMP Protocol
Sustainable Solutions was contracted as project manager to implement a pilot of the USFS BMP Protocol in Maryland. The year long pilot project collected valuable timber harvest BMP monitoring data in Maryland, and served in the development of the U.S Forest Service, Northeastern Area, BMP monitoring protocol.

The project included using the protocols field based software to collect spatially linked data on BMP use, effectiveness, and condition on over 55 timber harvest sites across the State. Sites were selected by random from county sediment and erosion permits. Sustainable was contracted by the Maryland Association of Forestry Conservancy District Boards in conjunction with the Maryland Forest Service using a generous grant from the USFS North Eastern Area.
